Testing wordpress and plugins

[ad_1]

Hello, I’d like to test wordpress out but do not want to launch a website right now, is it possible to host it locally and use plugins? I want just to play around with plugins and themes and after I figure it out post it live.

Any help is appreciated:)

  1. I got started by setting up WordPress in a subdirectory of my active website. Gave me real insight into load and all I might need. Moved it to main when ready.

The real value is that I didn’t have to maintain my own wp install, as my host provided the tools. Fairly simple that way.

  2. I always give my clients a staging environment to work on their website without going live til they are ready. You should always have that option.
