I started to learn wordpress (& elementor) few weeks ago and I really enjoyed it.
But, I have some issues. What I would like: when you click on an image, it opens in a window with text next to image (to explain the context, how the project was created, etc., not just a small caption) without changing the page the user is on (in other words, without loading a new page).
Start with the mobile version of your site and see how ridiculous your design notion sounds.
I’m assuming you are talking about a modal or lightbox. Many plugins will do this, but it can create a terrible user experience when not done correctly.
As u/hippotwat pointed out, this is absolutely garbage for mobile use. It’s 2024, and the desktop version of your site is not nearly as important as the mobile version (but still important). Most will browse your site on their phones.
