Text not showing up, lagging in some areas of dashboard

[ad_1]

Hello! I’ve been using WordPress for years with minimal issues, but I’ve got a weird problem I’ve never experienced before. I haven’t touched my blog in a few months and decided to go in today to publish a new post. It has auto-updated to the latest version (6.4.3) and normally that’s totally fine.

However, now when I go to create a new post, I can type my title like usual, but when I start typing in the actual post area, I can’t see it. If I highlight, the text is all there but it’s like it’s typing white on white.

I normally use the classic editor but I tried the block editor too. That’s even worse, it just goes to a completely blank page. I’ve tried Chrome (my usual browser), Edge, and even Internet Explorer. All three browsers give those same two issues. I even rebooted, nothing.

I had some plugins that needed updating since it had been awhile, so I updated those but that didn’t change anything for me.

I am using the free Neve theme. I’m not sure if the theme itself is the issue, I’m tempted to try switching themes but I’m also scared to break it all so badly that I will make it worse.

As for my dashboard, it mostly loads, but I can not close any messages (such as the ones telling you about a recent update you just made), and both my Site Health tab widget and my Yoast (free) widget are just spinning. If I actually go into Site Health to see if there’s anything I need to know there, it just loads a blank screen.

I’m pretty frustrated, anyone have any insight?
