Utilizing Animation on webpage for photos and text. Anyway to have item animate only once,upon viewing?

I am having an issue where the viewer will scroll to a new area and an item will animate in. Once they scroll past and then scroll back it animates again, then so does the next area when they go back down the page. it looks silly continually animating. Any ideas?
