Website messed up after uninstalling elementor

[ad_1]

Hi! I recently got the elementor plugin to see what it was about. I did not make any changes to my website. I simply opened elementor clicked around a bit, decided not to use it and then uninstalled the plugin. The issue is that now my wordpress editor is completely messed up… Everything is still red (the elementor color), when I make an edit it does not appear correctly, some features have been lost (oddly I can’t go back to old revisions), and overall it just appears as if there are leftovers from it. I’m super upset and was wondering if someone could help me out. Thanks.

  1. I’m guessing you converted some pages to Elementor and then uninstalled the plugin leaving the pages broken. Or like u/SolheimTech said, something is cached on the server.

  2. Do you have backups set up? Sounds like some of the markup of the page has just been altered by elementor but not in a way that Gutenberg can handle directly – if you have backups the easiest way would be to just restore to a point before using elementor

If not, you might just have to go to code view and have a run through removing anything you don’t want

  3. Yes, i agree with another person’s comments. Each page in wordpress has a history, and you can revert to a previous version. Just as long as your not using a plugin to wipe the post/page history. Try that first. Otherwise, you might need to reinstall the plugin and undo what you done. when you visit a page and then click on the element or button it does something to the page. You need to undo that. If you need any help after this and i have some time i might be able to help you fix this for free.
