Please help with advice. I realize I set up the categories and tags incorrectly for my almost 200 posts. :,(((
It’s a travel blog and I want to simplify what I’ve done. Today I have a category for every country, but now want to put all blogs under a destinations category and add tags for the country/city.
I have read the following, and am looking for verification it is true. My blogs are set up like the latter below. Can anyone confirm please?
“If you are using domain.com/category/post-title-here and then change your categories, this will cause 404s (which can be fixed via redirect).
If you are using domain.com/post-title-here, you will be just fine to clean and edit categories and tags.”

If you are just a small time blogger, I wouldn’t worry about it. Just resubmit your sitemap to Google Search Console once you’ve made the changes and google will fix it next time they index your site.
If you have some important posts that you don’t want the links to 404, then yes, you’ll need to setup redirects.
