What is better WPbakery or Elemntor for beginners and ecommerce?

[ad_1]

Hey, Im new to wordpress and im trying to find the right page builder to start learning and sticking with it to later to make other ecommerce websites with it. Im considering Elementor because of its easy to use front editor and its flexibility. But also WPbakery because it is used to make more complex websites. I've heard that elementor produces more code than needed than WPbakery and that makes your website slow down. Also I have heard thay both have some security flaws and other stuff. Can someone help decide on what should I learn and use, or should I use another page builder? Any help is much apriciated, thanks!

  1. Use whatever works best for you. Everyone has their own opinions about what to use.

Security flaws are only really an issue if you don’t keep up to date with the updates. Elementor and WPB are generally pretty good with patches.

  2. Learn with elementor but don’t just rely on plugins. Ask ChatGPT for help understanding code and learn.

Then move to a more modern page builder like bricksbuilder.io, break dance, generate blocks, etc.

Get the basics down with elementor, the learning curve is easier

  3. No. I’ve been using WPBakery since 2015 and Elementor since it came out, both are crap in terms of optimization, and the workflow has nothing to do with WordPress, for all that matters, it could be standalone website builders.

Learn WordPress with the block builder instead – it’s the way WP is moving, people liking it or not.
The learning curve is the same difficulty as Elementor, but achieves a far better result.

Get more features in the block builder with Kadence, GenerateBlocks, Spectra or Greenshift – that’s the choice you have to make.

  4. Skip both. Move to something like Breakdance immediately. Yes it’s not as easy as Elementor. But it will push you to understand basics of html/css structuring much faster than Elementor/Divi which is what you need to make a progress. BD is miles ahead with Woo compatibility as well.

  5. Our clients like to use both, although they seem to prefer WPBakery due to its simplicity, as they say.

  6. Elementor is easier to start with. And personally i prefer Elementor right now although i am rooting for the day Gutenberg becomes a serious alternative.

Still i suggest giving them both a try since you are new, youll be learning a lot that way.

  7. WP Bakery backend editor is nice because you don’t always need to load up the website front end builder in order to see what everything looks like.

Its backend editor is more like a design friendly ACF and many times all you need.

There are some quirks about it though that I find annoying for power users such as saving css in templates or editing templates in general.

Elementor can be a bit clunkier but its front end design skills and vast widget extentions probably make it more capable of doing advanced designs/animations/etc.

    Enenentors templating system
Is also far better in my opinion. Though many of the perks are also paid.

  8. I started with flatsome. And have used all the others builders. I have one e-commerce website still with it. No reason to shift.

Unless you want special design in website, I would recommend flatsome.

  9. I worked on a WPBakery site for a while and really did not like the interface. It felt really outdated and idiosyncratic. I have another client with five Elementor sites and they’re easier to work with and keep updated. Personally, for small sites, I prefer Divi.

  10. Wpbakery – it’s easy enough to use and I can get it to score perfect 100s on core vitals

  11. Based on a handful of consultations and assessments of Gutenberg sites built by newbies vs Elementor or WPBakery sites built by novices I’d say it doesn’t really matter, they all tend to be built by novices.

And that’s the real problem. In the hands of an expert with *at least,* say, ten solid sites under their belt most builders can produce pretty good outcomes.

I reluctantly agree with others that if you’re starting out fresh it would be better to try and master the block editor, though also like others say you’ll need to acquire Kadence or Generate or one of the other essential crutches for the block editor’s crippling deficiencies.

If you don’t have time to climb the rather steep learning curve for blocks you can do what at least ten million others have done and choose Elementor. You can get very attractive results much more quickly though at a cost for performance and (especially) reliability as Elementor devs continue to be as bad at regression testing for updates as the blocks devs are bad at interface design.

  12. I’ve used both, I find WP Bakery difficult to work with sometimes and upgrading it is always a pain when bundled with a layout purchased. Elementor is my go to now.

  13. I use Elementor for all the sites I build, including e-commerce. Many will say it’s bloated and slow. It’s not necessarily true – but can be. I manage to optimize mine well and thoroughly and still score 90+ on PageSpeed metrics.

  14. Vanilla WordPress with only the essential plugins. Otherwise you won’t really learn a solid footing.

  15. Neither?

    Wpbakery was great.
It is now primitive, and Elementor was the best builder of the generation of builders that superceded it.

Beginners inte t on building regularly should skip Elementor and go straight to either a block builder extension or Bricks.

Personally I have the block builder. But it has advantages that make it better than Elementor overall.

  16. I use a Theme, where they have a very great and useful customised WPBakery.

This Theme I use for 80% of all website projects. Besides the WPBakery, they have everything quite simple but effective done, for creating a customised website.

Depending on the website project I am also use Themes with Elementor, and using also Bricks, Oxygen and Breakdance.
