To start, I am an idiot and have zero experience building websites. What is the most idiot proof but completely free website builder for wordpress? I have tried elementor but half of it was behind a paywall….. Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂
I wouldn’t recommend WordPress for you – it’s not very newbie friendly. It’ll let you upload a 5mb image and use 50 h1 tags on a page. Use Squarespace or Wix.

There are no good free options
I would be looking at using a Block theme, in combination of Gutenberg and the free versions of either Kadence or Generateblocks. Add in ACF for good measure. There will still be things behind a paywall, but it won’t be as annoying as you would find with Elementor. You just have to work within the limitations.
Wix has an AI website builder. Just tell it what you want.
Ok.. this question means you shouldn’t be looking at WordPress. Just go wix or Shopify or squarespace. Idk why people think just anybody can build a website in WordPress.. that’s not how it works.
You can try free and user-friendly WordPress builders like Beaver Builder, SiteOrigin Page Builder, Gutenberg, and WP Page Builder. I recommend exploring them while watching tutorials on YouTube.
