WooCommerce is maintained by Automatic which is the same company that manages WordPress. There is not, in my mind, a better plugin for an eCommerce site built on WordPress. That being said. If you’ve only got a couple products and don’t need all the bells and whistles of WooCommerce you can also use a form plugin like Gravity Forms to set up products and take payments.
Highly encourage WooCooomerce. It’s the big-dog in the WP ecommerce world and even if you didn’t HAVE to use it for this project, it’s well worth learning.
