What Would Be a Fair Compensation for Extensive Website Work and Related Tasks?

[ad_1]

Hi, Four months ago, my husband asked me to learn how to transfer domains, set up emails, and create a WordPress website because the company he works for is starting a new, competing business. I watched over 20 YouTube tutorials to understand how to do these tasks.
I’ve now completed everything he requested: I’ve transferred 5 domains, set up 15 emails, purchased 2 new domains, created 1 new email, and built 19 pages for the website. I wrote, created, and generated all the content and images with the help of ChatGPT, and I spent over two weeks researching similar websites to understand their writing style, font types, and sizes. In addition to working on the website, I’ve been caring for our young daughter, handling household chores like laundry, cooking, shopping, ironing, and cleaning. I finally asked him for $1800 as compensation for all the work, but he said that amount is too high and accused me of being greedy. Is $1800 a reasonable amount for the work I’ve done? If not, what would be a fair compensation for these tasks?

  1. If you’re doing it for your own family business, then probably nothing. If there are other business partners involved, then you should be asking them for a payment.
