When will wordpress get their own version of elementor?

[ad_1]

I used to use WordPress 10+ years ago when it was simple, coming back to it now and sites all use Lementor and other builders. They are great in theory but a total pain to use. Maybe I just need to get used to it.

But why do we have to use a separate app for this – surely wordpress themselves should just make something inbuilt that does the same thing?

How come a small startup can do it and a huge company like WordPress can’t and has to rely on 3rd parties?

Am I getting this wrong?

  1. I think you are misunderstanding. WordPress is maintained by the WordPress foundation which is a non profit. WordPress the technology is free and Open source. You have many people contributing to it, but it’s not a company. It’s not huge either.

You are mixing the popularity of WordPress with the service that is behind WordPress.com, which is a for profit company unrelated to the developers of WordPress. Edit: Unrelated is not quite correct, but different independent entities

Edit: Quick Google search: Elementor has supposedly 364 employees
