I’ve reviewed your site and found the issue with the featured images, only with your coffee mugs and only when a capacity is selected. It even happens using the quick view option, too, and it also shows the wrong image on the cart and checkout pages.
I tested for other products and categories, and I didn’t find this behavior, so it seems isolated to the coffee mugs category only.
This one is quite interesting. To learn more, can you please share the System Status Report with us? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support.
Furthermore, can you please run a conflict test to find out if something external is interfering? Maybe a plugin for WooCommerce or your products. Let’s test this!
To do a conflict test you’ll need to deactivate all plugins except for WooCommerce and take a look. If that fixes the problem, re-enable the other plugins one by one (gradually), checking after each, to see where the issue is coming from.
Some important considerations:
— Be sure you have a good backup in place of your full site and database. You can ask your host for backup functionality, or you can consider using a service like Jetpack. If something goes wrong, you will be able to restore it.
— Also, you can consider using a plugin like Health Check & Troubleshooting. This is a plugin developed by the WordPress community, and it is helpful to disable plugins without affecting your current site visitors.
— It is important to consider staging functionality as well in case you would not like to touch your production site (you can ask your host if they offer this service), or you can use WP Staging to spin up a new test site quickly.

Please keep in mind for the troubleshooting to disable everything but WooCommerce and try that way first. If your featured images work fine then, you may enable all the plugins one by one. If it still doesn’t work, with only WooCommerce enabled, you may reenable everything right at once as the problem may lay elsewhere.
To avoid disruption on your live site, could you please try creating a Staging site, using Storefront, and disabling all other plugins but WooCommerce there? Since you mentioned you’re on Siteground, here’s a nice guide to follow to create one: https://world.siteground.com/tutorials/staging/create-staging/.

I found the culprit, for some reason or another every mug variation has the same featured image in the backend. thank God the parent is correct and I can manually fix this. thank you for your help.
