WordPress adding text to image file names

[ad_1]

When I upload an image to WordPress I make sure the text is eligible for SEO purposes, so when I look at the file name through the media gallery the name looks fine. But if I use inspect on my browser of choice I see the word “optimized” on my image. Is it a plug-in causing this or how can I fix it?

-edit- yep, figured out it’s a plug-in, that’s what I get for creating a website after they dropped another dev

  1. Likely an images optimisation plugin.

But you’re talking about two different things – text in an image, and filenames. Don’t rely on google to index text in images – and they don’t scale well when it comes to responsive design. Typically you’ll want to use the image as a background images with html text overlaid.
