WordPress as custom SQL table interface using PHP

[ad_1]

I was wondering if any of you has made a custom PHP interface to SQL tables in WordPress.

I used Bootstrap and regular HTML/CSS/PHP many times before, to create pages from scratch where people can login, enter data, lookup data as tables/lists, and such.

Now I am looking at WordPress to implement a theme, have the nice responsive GUI with blocks, text, images (no e-commerce or shopping carts) and then create custom PHP within those pages to get data from new tables I want to create with the wp\_ database.

The user would need the regular user profile plugins from WP to log on and then they can lookup or enter data in that new table.

Any info would be appreciated! If you think it’s still better in a regular non\_wp environment, also let me know.

  1. I mean you could implement this customization within the bootstrapped wordpress codebase. There are so many helpful functions you could leverage to simplify your code instead of writing it yourself in some external interface.

Could you elaborate more on the advantage of doing it your way outside of wordpress?
