Im relatively new to wordpress, ive watched several tutorials online from 2023 mostly. But, I cant do anything with the « free » version. I have the personal plan and i cant even install plugins or change the font without paying 25 bucks a month! Is this due to a recent update?
I thought the whole purpose of wordpress was to make website creation accessible to everyone… what a shame

You need to stop use .com.
All here use . org
WordPress.com is the for profit company. They use a typical freemium model in which the free users get only the barest of basics.
WordPress.org is the open source free version that pretty much allows you to do anything. The only catch is you need to find your own hosting.
