I have multiple sites using Divi (I bought a lifetime license many years ago), they all have similar metrics.
Metrics from one site:
GTMetrix: A (94% perf, 1.1s largest contentful paint)
PageSpeed Insights: 93 desktop, 85 mobile
The things I worry about are that my userbase is very mobile heavy and metrics that concern me about mobile include:
First Contentful Paint 2.2 s
Largest Contentful Paint 4.0 s
**A factor to consider is that I have a booking widget that is slow. We provide healthcare services, so we need to use the booking widget built into our electronic medical records app due to HIPAA requirements.**
**I honestly don’t know if I will get much better performance by switching specifically because of this booking widget.**
I’m considering Bricks, Breakdance (and/or Oxygen) and Generatepress + Generateblocks.
I am not a professional web builder, but I have built a variety of sites starting with just HTML/CSS/JS, including using APIs for game building, etc. I am not afraid of building and learning, but these sites are business sites and I want to be able to create them quickly and easily and have them running robustly and reliably.
To be clear, the only reason to switch would be to increase speed and user engagement.
The biggest reason not to switch would be the pain in the ass of recreating the websites. Additional cost is annoying (as always), but honestly based on the profitability of the sites and the average cost of the new builders, it is not really a concern (my tech stack for the business is at about $500 per month in SaaS as is, so an additional $150 per year isn’t a make or break).
Is it worth it to do the work of migrating to a new editor?
Do you have advice in this case?
