I’m having a problem with a WordPress installation. Background is that I migrated the site to a new hosting company, manually not using autoinstall or those types of tools. I can access the site, but when I login my WordPress admin account I have no permissions. Immediately after logging in, I can see the admin bar at the top but my only option is to log out. If I try to access /wp-admin/ directly, I receive the error “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.”
Here’s what I’ve tried:
– Using phpmyadmin I have checked the user capabilities and the role
– Renamed htaccess
– Renamed plugins folder
– Tried adding a second user to using phpmy admin. The second admin receives the exact same ad the original admin – errors and no ability to access login
– Cleared browser cache
– Removed all themes except twenty twenty three
There is no cache or CDN running on this site. Any advice on what to try next?
