WP ALL IMPORT + ELEMENTOR + ACF + CPT UI

[ad_1]

Hello everyone,

I am seeking help for a process I’m trying to execute but I failed to find any pertinent guide online.

What I want to do is to import numerous posts on my website, using a .csv file.

Here’s some information :

\- The content of each post are informations about coins (website about numismatics).

\- Since each post is about a different coin, there’s always the same fields displayed with variable values (date, country, manufacturer…)

What I want to do is :

\- Importing the data using an elementor template I made, so when it’s imported, it’s not just a bunch of information on a blank page.

\- Displaying the variable data on areas I chose on the template.

My issues :

\- I do not find anywhere how I can apply an elementor template for the importation, or if it’s something I must do AFTER the importation.
\- I did not find how to set up the custom fields on the elementor template I want to display.

\- I believe I must use ACF and CPT UI for the process, but yet again I am not sure how to use those plugins with my elementor template.

I am not yet completely familiar with all of this is quite confusing for now, since I haven’t found any ressources explaining in detail such process including WPALLIMPORT and ELEMENTOR.

Thanks to everyone in advance 🙂

  1. 1. Delete CPT UI – you don’t need it, since you have ACF
    2. Create a Post Type in ACF
    3. Create fields assigned to your CPT, also in ACF
    4. Import your data. You’ll need WP All Import and their ACF add-on.
    5. Create template in Element to pull in your custom fields. I’m not sure if that’s something that Elementor supports – I know that there are plugins like Crocoblock that do, but Elementor is outside my wheelhouse.

  2. Here is how you import to acf fields using wp all import: https://www.wpallimport.com/documentation/how-to-import-advanced-custom-fields-acf-from-csv/

Here is how to create a CPT with ACF: https://www.advancedcustomfields.com/resources/registering-a-custom-post-type/

Here is how you add fields to your CPT: https://www.advancedcustomfields.com/resources/adding-fields-posts/

In Elementor you create an archive page template that you use for your CPT.

After that you can create a shortcode to add in to your functions.php (make sure you have a child theme). Then you just add the shortcode to your Elementor template to display all the fields and use css to style it.

If you want help creating the shortcode you can contact me when you’ve setup all the above and give me the info on all the names of the fields used in the CPT.
