Yeah I am also pretty shocked, but then after reading the email again, I think they are saying you can pay that amount to have a lifetime license for ALL their plugins. If I’m reading it right you will still have the lifetime license for the plugins you own, but this is the last time you will be able to buy a lifetime license for the REST of their plugins that you don’t already own. After this they are moving to a subscription model.
