WP Crash after updating The SEO Framework to 5.0.6

[ad_1]

New 5.0.6 install and site is down.

Do you have the same Problem?

I found a post from you here: https://projectdmc.org/support/topic/doesnt-work-with-the-seo-framework-plugin/ I also use the AWPCP plugin on my site. Did the procedure in the post fix the SEO Framework crash?

Yes. I am currently trying to find the cause or bug that is causing this.

Ok, I just tested it. It works again. Great thank you

Hello!

Your site will crash if both AWPCP (Another WordPress Classifieds Plugin) and TSF are active.

This is because AWPCP called functions deprecated five years ago. We sent automated warning notices to all developers then, and 4.5 years later, in TSF v5.0, I removed the deprecated code altogether. I can only keep supporting old stuff for so long, or the plugin would be 4 times larger (and much slower).

The developers of AWPCP have already forwarded a fix to their GitHub, but the latest version is pending approval following their recent plugin closure. This makes it unavailable to get via the standard updating procedure.

To workaround that, you can download a copy of their latest version here: https://downloads.projectdmc.org/plugin/another-wordpress-classifieds-plugin.4.3.2.zip.

To install their latest version, go to “WP Admin > Plugins > Add New Plugin > Upload Plugin,” and then choose the ZIP file. This will initiate the updating procedure via ZIP.

After updating, AWPCP and TSF can work together again.

However, please note that the 4.3.2 AWPCP update is pending approval. Plugin updates aren’t normally validated unless there’s cause for concern. The current concern appears to be security-related (this info is already public).
