So I’m working on a conference website and the server suddenly got infected with Malware. Server is currently hosting 8 websites and it spread. Got SiteLock to clean it but they are taking a long time and the website needs to be up ASAP.
I’m now creating a new website and want the same exact content from the old one.
I exported the WP file, my question is, if I import it to the new site will it work or will it bring the virus to the new one?
I just need access to the content of the website and I can totally do everything from scratch. But the information on the pages are not recorded at all anywhere else.
I’m unable to open the pages via elementor as they are still working on the cPanel files and have removed something called .htaccess.
this is WP org btw
Please help me 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Hire Securi. They’ll clean everything properly. The hackers have definitely installed backdoors in the db and everywhere else.
I’ve had clients with hacked sites ask about us to bring their sites into my company and the only way I’d agree is to manually copy and paste the content and rebuild . You be surprised what kind of stuff they insert into posts and pages.
The fastest way to get this back up is to restore a backup.
Either from the hosting service (assuming they have them) or from the personal ones which everyone should be taking once in awhile.
Blogvault. Stat. They’ll auto clean. It or manually clean it, and get it back up very quick.
Site Lock is a well know scam. Google it. Mostly it is perpetrated by web hosts owned by the EIG. I used to be with Netfirms and when EIG bought them I started getting the alerts. They wanted money to fix a non issue. I left and now I host everything with Pressable, owned by Automatic, the creators of WordPress. I stay well clear of any web services offered by the group of EIG companies. Here is one guys research if you want to read more. https://researchasahobby.com/full-list-eig-hosting-companies-brands/
1. Get better hosting like WPEngine or Cloudways
1. Disable public access for all 8 sites by moving the files outside the public_html folder.
2. Clean & separate each website using a dedicated cPanel account for each website, to prevent cross-site contamination.
3. You may need better hosting, to have all 8 sites isolated – I recommend reseller plans with WHM access.
