WP theme and plugin without access to technical support

[ad_1]

Hey guys,

we’re selling WordPress themes and plugins via our website. Package includes updates and access technical support.

How important the technical support is? Would you buy the theme/plugin without access to technical support for lower price?

If yes, for how much?

  1. I’m presuming that you’d still be providing updates for that lower priced version?

Difficult to suggest a price without knowing what the plugin is and how much it currently is with updates/support.

Let’s say you were charging $99 per year for updates/support. I’d say maybe $49 per year for a version with just updates. However, would you then also have a separate support system in place for people that purchase the cheaper version? You’d need to have something set up for them to pay for support if needed, unless you’re just going to ignore those users that have problems with something but haven’t paid for support?

Sounds like a lot of extra hassle to offer a version without support. Most plugin costs are related to support/updates on a subscription-basis, and that’s what people expect. Why change something that isn’t broken?
