Currently working on a project for a client and for some reason the auto-update fails (manual updates do not). The client keeps getting spam emails from WordPress saying that the auto-update is failing. Has anyone experienced something similar to this? If so what helped fix this issue?

If WPB came with your theme (as it almost always does), it can’t be auto-updated, so turn that feature off for WPB.
