Okay So Here’s the situation:
I have a WordPress Multisite installation. I have a main website name “[mainsite.com](https://mainsite.com)” and a second website which is setup as a subdomain which is setup like this https//mainsite.com/secondwebsite”. I’m trying to change the URL of the second website to be “[secondwebsite.com](https://secondwebsite.com)”. I’ve tried following this namecheap tutorial, but it just breaks the site and I can’t find it. I’m hosting everything through namecheap. Your problem is when you set multisite to subdomain, it expects all the sites not designated the main one to be on subdomains.
To be clear:
is a *subdirectory*, not a subdomain
A subdomain would be . will not work.
You can adjust secondsite domain or you can disable the subdomain setting.
