I am trying to add the ability to generate a link preview programmatically using a Pods template and code from the VLP plugin ).
I’ve contacted ) the plugin developer to see where I can find the source code with hopes of adding it to a Pod template, so that I could pass a URL via Pods token into the VLP source code portion of the Pod template. He said the necessary code is “in the /visual-link-preview/assets/js/admin/form/index.js file but it own’t be easy to extract that.” I am unsure on how to proceed.
My current template relies on the VLP editor widget (in a text area) and then referencing it by Pod token. This method requires me to manually create a VLP in the text area first, and then call/display that text area in the Pod template. I’d much rather just use the URL from a Website field, and insert that field value token into the VLP source code, within in the Pod template.
Is this feasible and what’s the best way to add this code into a Pod template? I’d appreciate any help in identifying the required code into a snippet that can be added into the template, that requires only a URL/website field token.
