Hello all š
Fairly new to WordPress, but I’m trying to fix my aunt’s website. She has WordPress 6.1.1 running Kids Club theme. One of her plug-ins, Contact form 7 must have auto-updated and is now giving an error “This plugin does not work with your version of WordPress “.

So I checked, I cannot update WordPress because the theme she is using does not work on newer versions of WordPress. I tried downgrading Contact Forms but I don’t seem to have the option to do so. I have a backup of about 8 months ago which I can revert to but I’m not sure how long ago the problem started so it might be useless.

Any help is appreciated and have a great rest of your day! š
Update WordPress. Using old versions of WordPress will lead to your site getting hacked. Never downgrade anything because something else requires an old version.
If you can’t update because of ancient theme, take that as a sign to get a new theme.
Take bluesix advice.
But while you looking for a new compatible theme, you can roll back to an older Contact Form 7 plugin version using the ‘WP Rollback’ plugin. So that the error will not be there in the time being.
Check this video on how to use WP rollback plugin – [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QrVioY9iF5A](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QrVioY9iF5A)
My suggestion is moving forward, do not enable auto-updates for contact form 7 plugin. In recent years, it seems the newer versions always has some issues and conflicts with other plugins. Update it manually when there is a security issue (flagged by Wordfence plugin etc).
Hope this helps!
