I can’t decide between these 2 for the love of Pete, help me!
wpDiscuz is very AJAX so might need a beefy server when many active users. It’s free but sounds like you will want to buy at least some of the add-ons to make it better.
Thrive Comments does seem to be full ajax (maybe some interactions like upvotes but not everything) so gentler on the database. Paid, but cheap with a yearly fee, you can stop paying after a year but you’d lose updates. No add-ons, it is what it is.
I want to keep everything within the site so no DISQUS.
I want something reddit like, so far these 2 are the only solutions i saw that come close.
Anybody using any of these? or others similar?
