commenting on URLs

[ad_1]

This \*isn’t\* a request for coding support, this is a generalisation WP request.

I have a WordPress website (that I run for the fun of it(, and have even written my own theme, again – just for the fun of it.

On my fast star-trek-menu-based-wee-beasty: I have also created a comment form plugin using PHP HTML CSS, with a loose splattering of JS thrown in for good measure.

The gleaned code also has every form of \[ *input field protection* \] that the world-wide-web can think of, with the added benefit of having my own personal email address (being-hard-baked-into-it).

I have direct control over how the the comment-form plugin looks, (it also has no adverts), is very fast and light; and it works extremely well.

Now, .. currently my site is being hammered with mismatched urls, and I do mean hammered, I’ve updated my 404 page using PHP code to personally email me whenever it’s triggered.

Yesterday, it the 404 page got triggered 102 times, here is an example of the fake url combinations being used.

<website name>/2013/07/home/contact/b92-full-contact-form

This link does not exists, (not even close), but it does contain part of the path to my comment form page.

**Here’s the question,** what do the script-kiddies and hackers want? What are they trying to do here?

If it’s being done to crash my site, what can I do to shore it up? – Got a feeling that it’s going to fall over one day.

Keep the faith folks ..

BTW: I have personal-shield pro installed on my site, and the 404 IP addresses are being banned, but it can’t help with incoming urls.
