Do I need WP Rocket if my performance scores are high?

[ad_1]

Hi all, I’m new to this so please bear with me. My blog just went live (have been working on it for a long time now), and I just checked the page speed scores on pagespeed.web.dev. It says I have a Performance score of 99 on Mobile, and 100 on Desktop. But everywhere I go online, everyone says to use WP Rocket or something similar to speed up the website, and that it’s a mandatory thing to do.

Is this really necessary if my Performance score is already so high? I already use Shortpixel to optimize all my images, and I use a clean theme. Or is this just for sites that have poor Performance scores?

Thanks!

  1. If your site loads in less than two seconds then you’re fine. Put your energy (time, money, effort) into other ways to boost your visibility.

If at some point your site starts to slow down (you add Google Tag manager, YouTube videos, ads or ad trackers, or if you start getting heavy traffic loads) then it’s worth considering adding good caching. But you should be good for now.

  2. How’s the loading time? That’s what matters for both search engines and users. I’ve seen websites with great scores but slow loading time, and sites with awful scores but great loading time.

Caching is always good to have because it can significantly improve the loading time, and you can never have a site that loads too fast.

So, if you don’t have caching at a server level already, then you could make use of a caching plugin to further speed up your site.

Also keep in mind that when the traffic increases, the loading time can increase as well. That’s why you need all the speed optimization that you can get your hands on.

Kudos for optimizing your images and using an optimized theme.

What would you achieve above 99/100 with WP Rocket?

Common sense is THE ONLY mandatory thing.

  4. If it scores that close to 100 no need to change anything.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
