This is the 3rd request in the last 24 hrs like this. After doing some testing on our development site, this appears to be an issue with Google’s API.
Google’s API team is notoriously slow at responding to support requests but we will alert them to the issue.
I recommend using the Payment Request Gateway’s GPay integration for now.
You can see on Google’s demo page the button isn’t working either which means the issue is on their end:

Although the link you provided appears to be working, I am still experiencing the same issue on my end. Could you please update us here when the problem is resolved? I’m sure many people are following this post and would appreciate the information. Thank you!
Although the link you provided appears to be working,
If you click the very edge of the button or click the button in the first 2-3 seconds of loading, it will work. Beyond those conditions it won’t work. For example, after a few seconds, try clicking the center of the button and it won’t work
Could you please update us here when the problem is resolved?
Yes, we’ve notified both the Google Pay API team and Stripe’s engineers that work with the GPay team. It’s out of our hands at this point but we will provide an update once it’s resolved.
The Google API team has resolved the issue. The GPay button is working correctly and can be enabled on your site.
