Noob here. I’m having trouble getting started.
I want something really simple for a home page.
I want my company logo in the upper left corner, and the Menus along the top is fine. I would like the center of the screen to have four blocks that just click through to Category landing pages.
I would like the ENTIRE background of the home page *only* to be an image. Complete wallpaper… *That is not repeated on any other page.*
It seems so simple! And every solution is more complicated, and gets cocked up as far as I can tell.
I’ve watched the Bluehost creepy AI tutorials and scoured WPBeginner but I can’t find anything this simple. What am I missing?
Is there a theme that just allows me to build up from scratch, almost like a PowerPoint page?
(ETA: I’ve tried a bunch of different themes. My pages are going to be super-simple as well.)

This is entirely dependant on the theme you’re using… essentially you’re after a “full height row” function, with the ability to set a background image on that row. And possible a transparent header.
