How to change woocommerce templates? Seriously.

[ad_1]

Never worked with wordpress before and this is the first time I’m working on it. Chose an online store theme (Bosa Decor Shop)

Having a really hard time to figure out how to redesign/modify the entire template for product-detail page / product-list page etc.

Elementor button “Edit with elementor” changes to “Edit Product” button on the product page

Searched Google and it’s suggesting to buy Elementor Pro to enable Theme Builder. Is that the only option?

Chatgpt is giving vague answers and asking to code / modify theme files but that seems like an overkill.

Aren’t there plugins or easy ways to browse and switch templates of specific pages such as product page / cart page / shop page, etc?

  1. This is a lot to take on if it’s your first time working with WordPress.

ChatGPT is correct the best way to modify Woocommerce templates is to use actions and filters to modify the template.

“Best” here means your changes will likely not break with Woocommerce updates unless they do major rewrites.

I don’t use Elementor but they free version will probably only have very basic components or elements for ecommerce that’s probably why Google is suggesting Elementor Pro.

  2. Shoptimizer is a good Elementor based Woocommerce theme that actually recommends you stick to the free version of Elementor. So maybe check that out.

  3. be sure to create a child from the template you plan to use. so when there update on the template, it will not remove your changes
