I’m looking for recommendations to add an english version to my french website. I already have the text translated so I don’t want to use Weglot or any similar services with monthly fees.
Also, a designer did all the current features. Is there any free way of duplicating pages to keep it clean ?

Would Polylang work ?
I used this one for a bilingual site recently and really liked it. It can take custom translations of each paragraph, and I like the interface for it as well. Plus, it’s free.

WPML is the tried and tested multi-lingual solution. As it has a dynamic widget and can switch subdomains, and sub folders or simply use a parameter, it would be the best solution.

But if you want to try a free plugin, then Polylang is a great option for basic sites that do not have complex membership or WooCommerce features.
