Incorrect Category Display – Many copies of post image

I have a weird situation on WordPress and I cannot find any help on the web. I've got a WordPress site with posts in several categories. Whenever I want to display the posts for a given category, it is not formatted correctly. The image for the post is duplicated many times, like 8 or 12, so instead of having a display of three posts per page for example, there is one post with 8 of the same image (which is quite unsettling). The next post is below it, not next to it. Any help to correct this would be appreciated. I have changed to three or different themes (2024, 2023, now on Nisarg), but no success.
