I’ve been using WordPress hosting for the past 4 years, currently on the $8/month plan. While it’s been generally reliable, I’m considering making the switch to SiteGround due to some recent issues.
One of my main concerns is having plugin support on WordPress. Unfortunately, upgrading my current WordPress plan to include this would cost $25/month, which is quite a jump.
For those who have made a similar move, was it worth it? How did the performance, support, and overall experience compare? Any specific pros and cons I should be aware of?
Thanks

I have one Cloud server (with 8 websites haoted on it) on SiteGround which is amazing, and I maintain several client websites on standard SiteGround plans (not Cloud Hosting plans), and they all work great without any issues and no crashes or downtime (other than half hour downtime last year due to server migration).
I have been using Siteground for 8 years now and I never felt that I need to change. I had some issues over the years (some advanced configuration problems), but the support always managed to solve problems.
edit: removed VPS term.
Check out runcloud.io with Hetzner

You can get a good set up for around $10-16 a month. Fast too.
Don’t get started hosting.
SG is nice for beginners. Decent ManagedWP hosting, very user-friendly.
Siteground is amazing. I just switched all my sites to them. Highly recommend
