A client uploaded hundreds of images that are up to 20MB each, and the server storage limit is reached.
We don’t need to store a 60 megapixel version for the website to run, so I’d like to resize those original images to 10% of the size or so – which is still way bigger than necessary.
I’ve spent the last 30 minutes trying different plugins, but none is able to do this seemingly simple task – at least not without paying.
Any suggestion?
Only one I can think of is resmush.it
Otherwise, you can also look into cache plugins. Some have image optimization. If you’re hosted on a litespeed powered server, I think the free litespeed plugin has image optimization.
[Converter for media](https://wordpress.org/plugins/webp-converter-for-media/) is the best I’ve found to date.
The best free one I coud find is this one: [https://wordpress.org/plugins/robin-image-optimizer/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/robin-image-optimizer/)
I have used EWWW and ShortPixel, both of which I have purchased with their Life Time Deals. These tools have proven to be extremely effective.
