Learning Gutenberg

[ad_1]

Hello everyone, long time listener, first time caller.

I am a new web dev, finished school, with a background in full stack but using things like frameworks. I want to do a bit of freelancing, and part of that is deciding to pick up WordPress as part of that. I know that older PHP is still very much in demand for jobs, but as I am coming from a React (and other, better frameworks) background I was wondering how easy it is to pick up Gutenberg and WordPress development with React, and also if anyone has any good recommendations for resources to learn these things? (that are free, unfortunately I am out of work so my budget is tight)

  1. Resource for learning wise I’d recommend Ryan Welcher.

He has a Twitch video called “Converting a React app to to blocks with the Interactivity API” which might be what you need.

He’s likely lurking around here anyway.
