MailPoet – one particular email sending failed… why?

[ad_1]

Hello! I’ve got a WordPress / WooCommerce website with MailPoet. MailPoet is all set up and it’s generally working and sending emails exactly as it’s supposed to, except in one particular case.

I have an automation set up where when a person buys a particular item via WooCommerce (the only product I have for sale), and then it’s supposed to wait a specified amount of time, and then send them the first email in a sequence that spans several weeks.

When I test this out, I’m able to purchase the product correctly, and I receive the purchase confirmation as I should. In MailPoet, I see that the email address I used to purchase the product is added correctly, is in the correct subscriber list, and is queued up in the automation correctly. I see the purchaser moving through the “delay” step correctly. But, when it comes time to actually send that first email, it says “failed”.

I was trying this yesterday, and when I set it up so the first email in the sequence has no delay, it sent just fine, and I got that test email within 3-5 minutes after completing the purchase. But, when I have tried it with a one hour delay, or a 1-3 day delay, it has failed.

Everything else seems okay. Other emails are otherwise sending fine, the person who purchased the product is on the right list (and is being removed from other prior lists they would have been on, as appropriate). It just seems like actually having emails go out post-purchase (with a delay) is the issue.

From what I see online, maybe this is an SMTP issue? But, other emails are sending ok.

I’m also wondering if my automation is incorrect. But, I see people (email addresses) progressing through the workflow as they should up to the point where the email actually gets sent out.

Any advice or suggestions? Thanks a ton in advance for any reference points!
