I read posts and watched videos in youtube that selling pokemon tcg in Shopify and Wix or similar platforms often asks for receipts proving that you are an authorized business/person to sell pokemon tcgs.
I was planning on using shopify for my multi vendor marketplace but I don’t want to deal with this kind of process.
Right now I am thinking of using WordPress and WooCommerce to build the multi vendor marketplace, will someone contact me sooner or later to provide verifications like what Shopify/Wix is doing or no one will do that since WordPress and WooCommerce is an open-source tool?

Your safe bet is WordPress.org

There’s a legal reason why everyone requires it. As the owner/host of the marketplace, you have responsibilities/liabilities. Contact a legal expert local to you (irl only, don’t do online/virtual) to know what your country requires. Make sure your advisor has the appropriate professional insurances (and you do as well) in case you get sued based on a mistake in their advice.

Suppose an unlicensed third party vendor uses your marketplace to attract private information of children interested in Pokémon for pedophilia or blackmail reasons – you’ll get the police at your door sooner rather than later.
Depending on your country, and depending on how much you protected the users of your marketplace (or how little you did), you may be held liable for damages.
