I’ve used WordPress for years for a variety of purposes but this new idea has me stumped as to the best way to approach it.
I’m setting up a website for a very small but growing national car enthusiast club. There are local chapters and the mostly organize their own functions and tech (many times just using FaceBook groups).
What I want to do is to create a sorta directory of all of the chapters with links, contact details, etc. Each chapter would be able to add/edit their own page. And if they want everyone to just go to their FB Group, we can link to that. But I’d also like to give them the ability to do a bit more if they choose. It would be great if the chapters can at least publicize their events or meetings on the website.
At first, I was thinking of just doing a business directory plugin and sorta modifying it to fit this model. That can have some drawbacks since they aren’t really built for that. One example is that a club may only want to list their city but not an actual street address. I ran into some problems figure out a way to show that for some chapters but not for others.
Now I started looking at forms plugins like WPForms or Formidable Forms. In particular, Formidable Forms looks like I could make some custom forms and then use the views function to display data like in a directory.
I could also use an event plugin or maybe just use Formidable Forms to track events as well.
Any thoughts on this or should I go in a different direction?

Our plugin (GeoDirectory) can handle all of it.
The street name is not required, you can add the city name as the address.
You can use the Free Events add-on for the events, which you can link to the post type used for the chapters (Custom Post Types add-on required)
If you wish to give a group to each, you can allow users to create groups that work and look like Facebook groups, by using our free UsersWP plugin and the premium Groups add-on.
Let me know if you have any questions. I hope this helps.
