What version of Booking Calendar and DIVI theme do you use ?
Also can you check for any JavaScript errors in the browser console ?

Fixed. I think there was a pop up that asked where to put the calendar, i chose the home page.
that caused the odd behaviour.
I deleted that entry and just used the shortcode and all is well.
