I’m currently exploring Event Espresso, but it’s falling short in a couple areas. Enough to have me consider other options.
Here are my requirements:
1. Can create custom fields/questions
2. A parent can register 1 or more of their children for classes
3. WordPress will save the information so they don’t need to re-input it next session. I’m thinking the parent would have an account that saves their information plus information for the kids’ registration.
4. Accepts payments via PayPal Express and Check/Invoice
5. Set a per-class capacity
6. Automated emails based on action (registration successful, payment failed, abandon session, upcoming class, etc.)
Walls I’m running into with Event Espresso:
1. Children need to be setup as the primary registrant, which requires an email address. Only way around this is by changing the code (unsupported) hiding fields via CSS and setting up custom jquery scripts to push data around for email.
2. Information saved in WordPress is very limited. Just the registrant first name, last name, email, phone number and address. No custom fields are saved.
