Essentially, this virtual currency will allow users to unlock certain content, such as “premium” chapters, for example. This is one of the last elements to configure to complete the site, and I would be delighted to receive suggestions from you on how I could proceed. For now, I mainly have two ideas.
**Option 1: Use of MyCRED and WooCommerce with Custom Code**
* **Purchase of Credits**: Users buy “coins” or credits via WooCommerce. These products are virtual and represent different amounts of virtual currency.
* **Wallet Update**: After purchase, the user’s “coins” balance is updated in MyCRED.
* **Unlocking Content**: Users spend these “coins” to unlock premium content on the site.
* **Wallet Management**: MyCRED manages the “coins” balance for each user, recording earnings and expenses.
* **Integration via Code**: We are considering using hooks and custom code to more closely integrate MyCRED and WooCommerce.
**Advantages**:
* Easy integration with WooCommerce for payments.
* MyCRED offers robust point and reward management.
* Possibility of custom integration via code, offering more flexibility.
**Disadvantages**:
* Requires the purchase of the WooCommerce add-on for MyCRED for full integration or else custom code.
* Custom code may require additional maintenance.

* **Wallet Funding**: Users buy virtual products that increase their credit/point balance in their “wallet.”
* **Wallet Management**: The “Wallet System for WooCommerce” plugin manages the wallet balance for each user.
* **Unlocking Content**: Users spend these credits/points to unlock premium content on the site.
**Advantages**:
* No need to buy an additional add-on for integration with WooCommerce.
* Offers integrated wallet management.
**Disadvantages**:
* To be determined.
