I am a web designer and so far, I have created websites, even complex ones, using Elementor and ACF. Now, I have decided to diving into the development of custom themes (I know HTML and CSS, the structure of WP themes, and I am learning PHP).
Some questions about which solution to pursue:
* FSE + Gutenberg Blocks: Is it scalable, and what about future possibilities? Can I easily throw in some cool designs and JS animation libraries like GSAP? Any good resources to learn this stuff?
* Classical theme development with ACF integration for flexible layouts: where to start? Is Timber a valid solution? Any other frameworks or tools to speed things up?
* Other types of frontends?
I’m leaning towards Full Site Editing themes, but I’m worried about responsiveness, handling tricky layouts, and throwing in microinteractions and animations. Overall, what’s the best bet for the future?”
