I have seen a lot of people discussing how to add AI to a website.
Is it useful? There’s an argument that static websites are boring and you want dynamic websites powered by LLMs.
But feels like a lot of people are adding AI… kinda just to add it. I mean I’ve added it too. Just wondering aloud here.
I’m a web developer and have added little GPT-powered chatbots to several websites over the last six months. I mean it’s cool, but I’m not sure exactly what it’s adding. Theoretically there’s ways to make the chatbot know all the content of your website, be like a little librarian widget that can point them to proper points of the website. Functionally, this is achievable . But do people actually use that?
I’m curious what other people are doing.

We go through this every few years. People want to add the latest hype thing to their business just so than can market the fact that we have AI or whatever.
