Some of the stuff it hilights is useful and I try to write my posts according to its suggestions. The trouble is that it is targetting a different sort of content to what I write. I will never have subheadings, key phrares are not really relevant and a few other things. Is there anuthing wequivalent for shorter more news based blogs?

All In One SEO is great. But if you’re not going to use SEO tools for SEO purposes then there’s no point. Just write.
That’s what SEO plugins are. Anyone you choose will have those kinds of features.
