Travel planning plugin

It’s my first post here so please forgive me if this is the wrong place for this.

I’m helping a friend out who paid for a WordPress site. He is generally happy with the site but has asked for something which I do not know if it is possible.

The site is a travel site, people hire vehicles to do safari and hunting type trips. Currently the order process entails completing a form and then waiting for a quote that the owner sends at a later point.

He has asked me if it’s possible to do some sort of trip planning on a page on his site. He envisions that, the end user can select on a map (or less preferably text inputs) the various steps in their trip. This will then essentially generate an itinerary of sorts which then should be sent to him via email, which he will base his quotation on.

I’ve looked at WP Travel Engine, WP Travel and their competitors and while it looks great and has all the bells and whistles one would expect, I’m not seeing a trip planner (one that the client can use, it doesn’t help having trip planning only available to admins)

If you have any suggestions for me to look at, I would be super grateful. This isn’t a paid project or anything, I’m just trying to help him out and hopefully save him some money in the process.

It can be a free or a paid plugin.
